CORE COMPETENCIES
1. Auditing – QES, Inc. coordinates and facilitates the completion of a Quality Educational Audit which is systemic and comprehensive in scope, and enables a school or entire school district to analyze its current performance against a set of world class standards, establish a performance baseline for strategic improvement purposes, and identify and implement quality processes as the framework for educational transformation. Four versions of the audit are available: QESA (Quality Educational Systems Audit - a district level version); EAQE (Elementary Audit of Quality Education); MLAQE (Middle Level Audit of Quality Education); and SAQE (Secondary Audit of Quality Education). The audit consists of eight components, including quantitative and qualitative data collection, all of which are based on research, standards, and best practices related to high performance schools. The eight components include an Administrative Interview, Teacher Interview, 360 Review by Teachers, 360 Review by Administrators (PRISM), and four Customer Satisfaction Surveys (teachers, students, parents, and support staff). All eight components are conducted annually by Project Teams at each QuEStÔ school. The auditing process is supported by powerful, web-enabled technologies.
2. Strategic Planning - QES, Inc. organizes, plans, leads and conducts a Strategic Quality Planning and Design process to ensure that schools identify and clarify their mission and vision for the future, align educational practices with sound educational philosophy and research, identify key processes that drive the organization’s performance, infuse quality principles and practices into those processes, and develop a set of aggressive, integrated strategies and tactics for each of the ten key process areas to ensure that the school’s vision for the future becomes a reality. The Strategic Quality Planning and Design process serves as a powerful companion to the Quality Educational Audit and enables the school or school district to accomplish its primary mission of ensuring educational excellence for all students. The Strategic Quality Planning and Design process helps schools and districts to align all components of their annual school improvement plans with high performance action plans through team based approaches. The strategic planning process is supported by powerful, web-enabled technologies.
3. Professional Development - QES, Inc. provides comprehensive training and development to administrators, teachers, and staff through a series of customized retreats, conferences, seminars and workshops to ensure full implementation of the QuEStÔ model. Ten training modules available include:

4. Curriculum Mapping – QES, Inc. provides web-enabled curriculum mapping through its proprietary, web-based suite of technology tools (MAP-ITÔ) to enable schools and districts to map their curriculum against state content standards for Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The technology tool provides a visual map of the operational curriculum based on a calendar year, and if desired, by grading periods. Curriculum mapping enables schools and districts to collect and analyze data regarding the instructional process; use calendar maps and grading periods to organize instructional time; identify levels of instruction for each standard/benchmark (IRM); identify level of higher order thinking required per standard/benchmark; identify exemplary grade level instructional practices; integrate research-based instructional strategies; share best practices throughout the school, district, or county; and, use technology to reduce the time it now takes to manually map the instructional process.
5. Baldrige for Educators - QES, Inc. provides a range of services from Awareness Seminars for teachers and administrators to full implementation of a Baldrige based system throughout a school or school district.
6. ABLE - Academy for Baldrige Leadership - training based on Baldrige Performance Criteria for administrators and Board Members - 21 day Academy available over 2 year period
7. FASt FORWARD - Facilitator Certification/Train the Trainers – QES, Inc. believes in the power of internal capacity building for schools and districts to transform themselves.
